Beginning Aug 1, 2020 travelers will be able to visit Hawaii with a negative molecular based Covid-19 test. The test must be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.
If the test results do not come back before arrival, travelers will be expected to quarantine for 14 days or until they receive a negative result. Quarantine regulations are strict. You may not step out of the condo for any reason except a medical visit or to travel back to the airport to go home and violators are subjected to fines.
Coronavirus testing will not be provicded at Hawaii airports.
In addition to testing, the State will use thermal cameras at the airports to identify anyone with a fever and contact tracing will be used should infections occur.
While in Hawaii, you should plan to socially distance on the beach and elsewhere and wear a mask if visiting any place of business.
These new regulations may change in the next few weeks. Stay tuned. Good websites to check are the Hawai'i Tourism Authority
